Flow Synthesis

Flow synthesis is a method of chemical synthesis characterized by enhanced safety, easy scalability, and environmental friendliness. Leveraging this technology, we can shorten development cycles from R&D to mass production, achieving significant cost reductions. Metal-Organic Framework (MOF)

Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are innovative organic-inorganic hybrid materials, uniquely structured with metal ions and organic molecules arranged to form a multitude of nano-sized pores. These exceptional materials leverage their intricate porous networks to selectively adsorb, separate, or store a diverse range of molecules, from macromolecules to small compounds. As a groundbreaking new material, MOFs are currently undergoing extensive research and development for industrial applications across various sectors. Reduction of Petrochemical-Derived Products, Green Materials

In 2020, the Nagase Bio-Innovation Center, NAGASE’s dedicated R&D hub, successfully pioneered Smart Cell Technology, a proprietary innovation leveraging our unique fermentation expertise to boost the substance production capabilities of cells by an impressive 1,000-fold. Through environmentally conscious manufacturing practices powered by advanced biotechnologies, we are actively expanding their application across a wide range of eco-friendly products. As NAGASE, we are committed to strengthening our solution offerings for the burgeoning sustainability market. A prime example of this commitment is our successful co-development, in February 2023, of a superabsorbent polymer (SAP) with an increased proportion of bio-derived raw materials. This breakthrough was achieved by synergizing Nagase Vita’s cutting-edge enzyme technology with Nagase ChemteX’s advanced resin manufacturing expertise. Superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) are high-performance polymeric materials with superior absorbency, widely utilized in diverse applications ranging from disposable diapers and sanitary products to agriculture and cosmetics. However, conventional SAPs, being petroleum-derived and non-biodegradable, contribute significantly to environmental burden. This presents a critical challenge, driving a strong market demand for SAPs that incorporate naturally derived raw materials and offer biodegradability.
